In line with the National Curriculum, our children will develop their geographical skills and knowledge by observing their local area, studying atlases and maps and developing their geographical knowledge. Children will make links and connections between different people (human) and places (physical) and they will develop their knowledge through researching and comparing countries and continents around the world.
Our Geography curriculum is designed to ensure that pupils know how to ‘Be a Geographer’. We will do this through enabling all pupils to:
- discover an interest in geography and to develop their understanding of the world
- understand more about their local community and the wider world
- access a range of geographical resources
- complete a range of practical activities
- widen their vocabulary in terms of geographical and descriptive language
